Bromo Trip Part II

Bromo from the top

When you see this amazing view of Bromo mountain, you won't be able to hold yourself not to take pictures! Every angle of it is sooo pretty . . . You can also see a temple or "pura" from the top. This "pura", which is called Pura Luhur Poten, is only open once in a year when the Tengger tribe holds Kasodo, the Tengger annual ceremony. Tengger people are the local people of Bromo who are majority Hindus. The word Tengger came from Roro Anteng (princess of Majapahit King) and Joko Seger (son of Brahmana, the Indian God). Tengger people are believed as their descendant. The ceremony is held at midnight, right at the peak of the full moon, in Kasoso month according to Javanese calendar.

After we felt satisfied spending time at the mountain, we decided to go down to look for some food and continue our journey.

Happiness can make me fly
While walking down the mountain, we got another spontaneous idea to continue our journey to Madakalipura. It's a waterfall not far from the mountain. It took us around an hour to go there. We had our breakfast in a warung in Madakalipura site. While we were eating, someone approached us and offered us his service to take us to the waterfall. He told us that the road there wasn't easy to take that we would need a tour guide. However, he didn't want to set the price, but we decided to have him take us.
We started the journey at around 10 after putting our bags and stuff in the warung. We went in a hurry since it was going to rain. When it rained, it would be dangerous for us since the water would be high, and for sure, we would be wet, and we hated that. The man was right, the road was a bit hard to take. We had to cross the river many times. I didn't count how many times we crossed the river, but it was real fun!
When we finally arrived at the waterfall about 20 minutes later, it started drizzling. Moreover, the water from the waterfall was also hard, so we got wet anyway. I didn't have the chance to take pictures since my camera wasn't the water-resistant one.
The waterfall was the most beautiful waterfall I've seen on earth. The water came into seven different directions into one place. We will definitely get wet if we go here. You should remember to take a raincoat with you, although there are some people who rent some umbrellas for Rp 2.000,- each, but it's always better to have our own. Never try to take any electronic device because it won't work anyway.
